Activated carbon has an enormous internal surface area created by high-temperature activation. As water passes through the bed, chlorine, odour and taste compounds and dissolved organics are held on this surface. Carbon filters are essential before reverse osmosis because polyamide membranes are destroyed by chlorine.
We size carbon filters for adequate contact time (EBCT) and supply coconut shell or coal based carbon according to your application.
